Update for Windows XP (KB894391) to fix "Generic Host Process" error

Install this update to address an issue that may cause a "Generic Host Process" error message to be displayed after you install security update MS05-012, or cause attachment file names not to be displayed in Rich Text e-mail messages.

is this on windows update yet for you??i scanned but nothing new popped up.
im a nobody here but you need to edit existing posts and not make two consecutive posts.just so you dont get in trouble by a mod.

Well, I left the first post alone in case they wanted to post it on the news page. No, it's a hotfix so it's not on Windows Update. This is one of those, "don't install this hotfix unless you see the problem" type fixes from Microsoft. In my case, I see the problem.

is this error listed in the event viewer???or is there an administrative alert that appears when the error happens??

If it's the one I'm thinking of (I wish MS would be clearer) it shows up in a dialog RIGHT after the system starts up and you login ... and it's sporadic.

i think ill wait until its released to wu because i dont see any ghp errors and even though i like to install evrything because i have all allerts turned off i have had issues with these type of hotfixes.wow that sentence dont make a lick of sence.
