HP Adds iPod mini to Lineup
HP today announced that it has added the Apple iPod mini to its line of portable digital music players. The Apple iPod mini from HP is available in either 4GB or 6GB varieties. Both feature a touch-sensitive click wheel, battery life of up to 18 hours and USB charging for the internal battery. Both models also include earbud headphones, a belt clip and a USB 2.0 cable.
HP also unveiled its new HP Printable Tattoos for the iPod mini, which allow users to customize their players with various artwork, designs and photography. HP will roll out more than 300 new images over the next six months, including album art from various recording artists as well as unique artwork. Don't mean to rain on the parade, but I just thought people should know:
While it's nice that they carry them, I'd still buy from Apple directly. Why? Simple.. it costs the exact same amount to get an iPod from Apple, but with Apple, the shipping is free. Since it's not an HP product they will ask a minimum $15.99 shipping charge for delivery. The good thing is that you can pay for it over time at a monthly rate through HP. So, if you want an iPod right now, but can't afford it, or the high interest rates of your credit card company, then by all means go for it. However, I recommend that if you can afford it.. buy directly from the guys who make them, either online, or from one of their stores. Which reminds me.. the new Apple store should be open now over in Yorkdale Mall near me.. time to go pay them a visit. -Tip |
