Skype’s premium service hits the shops
"Maker of free Voice over IP services, Skype software is launching two paid for services. SkypeIn and Skype Voicemail give users regular phone numbers and lets them receive calls from landline or mobile phones without having to pay roaming charges. Users can buy up to three numbers from their home country in Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Skype Voicemail lets users receive a voicemail message up to 10 minutes long from any user or traditional phone. SkypeIn will set you back $13 for three months and $39 for the full year. Skype Voicemail cost $7 for 3 months or $19 for the year. Currently the outfit, based in Luxembourg, has been running a free Internet telephone service for who ever downloads its software. This is proving popular, with more than 100 million people downloading the software so far. The other premium service the company offers is SkypeOut which allows you to make a call from your computer to regular phones for less than two cents a minute. SkypeIn now allows people to call you, which is always handy." ________________ Source: The Inquirer |
