List of Downloadable Games for Revolution

The latest issue of Famitsu Magazine in Japan reveals that all of Nintendo's first party-published NES, S-NES, and Nintendo 64 classics will be available for download on Revolution.

The publication offers no specifics on games, but an overzealous message board poster calling himself 'myahon' put together a preliminary list of some 214 possibilities based on their first party status.

i dont know anything about the revolution. from my buddies who went to e3, they were told by nintendo reps that "nintendo does not need to worry about their hardware". Their interpretation of this was that they don't need all the flasy hardware that XBOX 360 and PS3 are coming out with, but their games will be truly awesome. They however do not think that this will happen.

Nice list, but I still wonder, has Nintendo never heard the emulators that have been around for years now? Sure, the roms aren't exactly legal, but that hasn't stopped anyone from downloading them anyway. And with emulators and roms, you get several times the amount of games than what's shown on that list.

I do hope the Revolution does well cause I've always liked Nintendo's games, but the ability to download (and pay for) games that have been almost perfectly emulated for years (and free) won't be the reason I buy the console. But Nintendo seems to be focusing more on emulating old games instead of the more important next-gen games.

I would say 70% of console gamers have no clue what an Emulator or Rom is.

Also, that is just the list of 1st party published games that will 'most likely' be 'free' with the download system. 3rd party publishers will be able to decide wether or not their back-catalog of games will be free, or charge a fee. Nintendo is encouraging 3rd party publishers to put their games as free downloads, or put games as 'bonuses' in other games. For example, if you complete something in Madden 2007, you get access to the back-catalog of Madden games published on Nintendo's systems.
