Direct X 9 final, and Ati catalyst sets to be released?

There has been alot of talk the net over regarding Microsoft releasing the final build of Direct X 9 for the public either today or tomorrow. Interestingly im hearing reports that ATI will release another DX9 driver set to coincide with this.

I havent got any firm details as yet but rest assured if any of us hear, or any of our diligent members have news, it will be residing in this thread on our board.

You can't really view the Inquirer as the most reliable of sources. . . . Remember back before the det 40's were released? They said "tomorrow" and tomorrow ended up being a week away. lol

I will hold of my format untill DX9 is here

Does it hold a performance increase for the Radeon 8500 or is it just the 9700 Pro

...that the reason we haven't heard much out of nVidia lately is 'cause all their newer drivers are aimed at DX9? Mayhaps they're getting ready for a big release too......

Seeing as ATI just Released Catalyst 02.5 Driver Set.

I'd give Microsoft about 2 - 4 Weeks Before you get any Official Word.

If the Release Date was This Close ATI WOuldnt have Wasted Time on Another DX8 Set they would have jesy waited a Few Days and Released the DX9 Set when DX9 Came Out.

Seriously, this "they're coming soon " stuff has been going on way too long! EVERYONE is held up because M$ is holding up DX9, and I just have a gut feeling that tomorrow really might be the day.

If not, I'm pretty sure my head will actually explode. If nothing else I'm gonna open up a thread in the flamezone to work of my angst about the situation.
