I don't really give a crap what Intel is making besides their cpu and chipset, not in my interest. The only intel processor worth glancing at is the pentium M. AMD exceeds Intel in every processing application.
very well thought out observation. quite helpful too.

the main reason(besides liscensing) that you do not have much in the way of non intel pentium chipsets is that most fo the companies do not like adhering to intels strict standards. the lack of any true regulation has been the problem with chipsets for amd platform.

l like the prformance and price
also beleave people should have choice that both chipset are in pc's and laptops, and low handed ways of keeping amd getting a share of trade from computer manfactureing companys, intel wouldn't be doing it if amd products wheren't good,as it is intel feels treatened

people do have chipset choices. way more than they do cpu choices.
while intel is 'the gorilla'(for several reasons), they do not control the pc market by any stretch of the imagination.
i am with you on the choice thing. competition is a very good thing for us
