Hatred? I used to be the biggest NV fanboy on these forums, no joke.

Yes I'm overly critical of them becouse of all the stuff they have done a pulled over
the years an since I was such a big fan. I could write a small book on it as well as
stuff ati did. That and the way thier doing things. When they do wrong I jump on it, i
s V3 duao does wrong I'd jump on it,If s3 does wrongI'd jump on it , It ati did wrong
I'd jumpon it just the same. I don't love or hate companies...

I'm rather a numb unfeeling sort of person in regard to nvidia.
Though personaly it no secret I do prefer ATI myself .

If I dislike them so much then why do I consider and contenu buying and reccomending thier cards when it the better deal? when I build system a give them what ever is best for thier needs be it ati nvidia or other wise I look into what is the best buy as well. For example a 6600GT is a better deal then a 9800 pro. I just turned a guy onto a 6200 last week who works with my girlfreind and needs a card for his emachine.
He play a buch of nvidia ment to be played games and opengl ones.

Some cards are better for diffrent genre of games etc... I think more with my head
then with any emotion... expcet when i'm offended or made upset then I'm likely to act
like an idiot. I wigh the facts but I defonatly don't like being decived...

I'd be reaming ATI right now if they pulled the same thing....

There is more to this than you know neon, there ARE clocks that stay at 430mhz in games, there are others that move up, if they said it was a full 470Mhz you'd be saying "OMFG not all clocks are 470MHZ, some stay at 430, MIS-ADVERTISING!" right now, Read this, realise this issue isnt as open and shut as you'd like, and wait to see what pans out, ok?

I agree it not complely clear what going on but don't dobt for a monent nvidia was unaware. As for the overclocking I'm going in what tomshardware said in ragards to the thermal sensor / cooling issue. Wasn' refering to the clocks obtainable. You can't over clock as high with out the better cooling that would drop the temps below thier lower limit wich kicks in the thermal protection if it too hot or cold... As i said nvidia working on it.

Anything that is said by Guru3d I take wih a load of salt due to the man who runs
the place is an a**hat. What it sound like is that carsd are 430, then 40 mhz faster
when a 3d app is run and nvidia them selfs said "430" was the "intial clock" being vague
an hinting the cards do auto clock up.

Non the less this could of been nvidias plan all along to create controversy thus free advertiseing that even 100's of millions couldn't buy . Thier on the front pages of hudreds of thousands of sites. and discussed in forums .. Good or bad headlines sells you more stuff

ChrisW is on a distinguished road

Even if nVidia is doing something sneaky with the clock rates, it's still a nice card. ATI has Overdrive, but it's visible to the end user. Everyone knows the maximum clock rate for Overdrive and even has the option to turn it off. If nVidia is doing something similar, then not telling people about it could be deceptive. We also need to know nVidia's definition of "multiple clocks". Does that mean there are several clock controllers for different parts of the chip or does it mean they have manually selected a list of maximum clock rates they apply using application detection?
