Over the past few years, first-person shooters have become very important to console gaming.
Much of the Xbox's success can be attributed to the exclusive launch title Halo. Some of Nintendo's loss in marketshare stems from the fact that the company didn't produce a follow-up to the popular Nintendo 64 hit Goldeneye 007.
So it's a surprise that it's taken this long for an first person shooter to hit Sony's handheld PSP console. Konami's Coded Arms, being the first, has attracted a fair share of pre-release attention. But although the game features a few unique concepts, the final product spectacularly fails to live up to the hype.
