lol, read the beta news comments. How can people rate Norton????
To any other product it uses every bit of system resource it can get its hands on. It has about 8 to 10 services starting up in 2005 version. Shocking.

Not to mention Norton is a piece of crap all around. God forbid if you have to reinstall it or if any error comes up during the update process. Mcafee is the way to go now.

I use Nod32 and its the best I have tried. Ive used mcafee, norton, bit defender, Pc-cillin, kaspersky, and AVG. Mcafee was not picking up some trojans like it should, norton just sucks all around from resource usage to finding stuff, to uninstall/reinstall problems. Bit defender wasnt bad, but kinda resource heavy as well but it did have a firewall, I did not like pc-cillins firewall at all. I didnt have kaspersky long enough to judge it, and I didnt have any problems w/ AVG+, but I still liked Nod32 better. It takes up less than 20MB of memory and I havent had any problems w/ it at all.

I stopped using Norton when they announced their "activation" program. I hate activations, and since they had major problems in their first year with buyers not being able to activate their programs, it's obvious why
I used McAfee for a while, but didn't like their ActiveX stuff, so I switched to NOD32. So far I've been happy. |

I use norton NAV and NIS
Quote:
NAV does detect some spyware/ malware / includeinmg keygens and hack tools with the default heristics set at "meduim" it misses alot of "would be" threats at max it catches them. More likely to run into a false positive... other few i've tried other then finding some known "flase positives" they find the same stuff. BTW you know MS is partenerd / under contract with the US goverment and intelligence If you worried about them spying on you better be useing LINUX
