World's first 3D display revealed

The world's first interactive 3D display has been developed by IO2 Technology.

HelioDisplay creates 3D displays in the air using lasers, drawing input from computers, TVs and DVDs. It also allows interactive applications to be controlled by a finger, instead of a mouse.

"Our first generation version, the Heliodisplay, projects TV, streaming video and computer images into free space, (mid-air)", the company's website claims.

While it's early days for such technologies, the company has just completed its first production unit and claims it is ready to release a limited number of units for sale.

I knew someday somebody would release something like that.

i reminds me of the animated series Robotech were the myreya`s boyfriend met and figthed with some bodytech lol nice

Funny thing is I remeber 3D (halograhic) archade games,
3d just like what thier showing as "the 1st", a good 10 years
ago........................so if anything thier "second"

They had one at a movie theater I used to live near. It was some stupid cowboy dodging stuff with gameplay similar to dragon slayer or one of those crappy sega cd FMV games. It costed like a $1.50 to play (a lot of money for the pre-sfII days) so we just stood there and watched the demo and the high score thing over and over while we were waiting in line for candy. It seemed like it would give you a raging headache if you played for more than a few minutes because it was sort of flickery and seemed to put a great strain on your eyes.

But I'd say they were 1st true since they
did come out with something like that so long ago that it's kinda scary
