ECS Elitegroup KN1 Extreme Motherboard @ Xtreme Resources
The enthusiast market and community have grown by leaps and bounds in the last 5 years or so, and with the popularity of overclocking and high performance computing platforms have arisen many familiar names in that genre including Abit, Asus, Epox, Gigabyte and most recently DFI with their wildly successful nForce4 iterations. With this Editor, when the name ECS ELITEGROUP is mentioned the first thoughts that pop out are, 1) o*ne of the largest mainboard manufacturers in the world, providing boards suitable to both OEM and system builders, and solid stable platforms for the mainstream computer market. Of course there has been some success of late with a few different platforms in the enthusiast market by ECS, but associated with low cost "bang for the buck" type systems. When the nForce4 Ultra based KN1 Extreme arrived at my doorstep and I indulged in it's build and feature set, I must say I was quite impressed. Follow along as I take their first entry into the AMD socket 939 enthusiast segment for an evaluation and compare it's features and capabilities to the current king of the segment, the DFI LP UT Nforce4 SLI-D.

The guy must be sufferring from one of 3 things: 1) he's been brainwashed by ECS, 2) he's sufferring from memory loss, or 3) his "positive" scoring can be bought by getting free stuff to test.
Ugly board, terrible company. There is no way this should have gotten a postive score. ------------------------- *If you are looking to get your products reviewed, and are prepared to receive an honest review, well then send me a PM, and we'll work something out .
