Albatron announces Nvidia nForce4 SLI Intel motherboard

Albatron Technology recently announced a new motherboard (PX19-SLI) for the Intel Pentium 4 platform featuring the Nvidia's nForce4 SLI (scalable link interface) C19 chipset, with the motherboard targeted to the mainstream and high-end segments.

The PX19-SLI supports Intel dual core processors with FSB speeds up to 1066MHz, dual-channel DDR II 667 memory and features two Express (PCIe) x16 slots.

In addition, the motherboard features two PCI x1 expansion slots. The PX19-SLI also comes standard with Gbit LAN, 6-Channel audio and four SATA II ports with RAID. Albatron has also added I/O for eight USB 2.0 ports and an RCA digital audio output port on the back panel.

The PX19-SLI is different from other SLI-enabled motherboards for the Intel platform due to its pedal-less design, according to the company. A pedal circuit board is required on most SLI boards and needs to be taken out and reinserted when using dual card SLI technology. However, Albatron’s PX19-SLI has sidestepped that issue with its own unique on-board circuitry design. The company claims this will lead to better signal quality and optimization of performance levels.

Albatron stated the motherboard will begin shipping worldwide in the second half of October or early November. Pricing has not yet been determined.
