Winning Schools Receive Over $3 Million in Prizes and Compete for 'Best of the Best' Top Honors.
Intel Corporation and Scholastic today announced the 2005 Schools of Distinction award-winners -- 20 K through 12 schools that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to achievement and innovation in education, and which serve as exemplary models for success.
To celebrate each school's extraordinary commitment to educational excellence and innovation, the schools will each receive a $10,000 cash grant from the Intel Foundation in addition to a host of prizes ranging from curriculum materials and professional development resources to software and hardware valued at more than $3 million.
Representatives from the winning schools will also receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in an awards gala on Oct. 6. At the gala one primary and one secondary school, selected from among this year's honorees, will be named "Best of the Best." These winners will receive an additional $15,000 grant from the Intel Foundation.
