ABIT has been in the computer industry since 1989, and has been on the cutting edge of what their customers want ever since the early 90's. With innovations like SoftMenu III and the BP6 dual Celeron board, they consistently show support for the enthusiast market. Hopefully their nForce2 board will be an extension of this heritage.
Starting with the integration of nVidia's nForce2 chipset, the NF7-S builds off of a solid foundation. ABIT adds SATA support and SoftMenu III to round things out.
The NF7-S is laid out fairly well, with an ample amount of room in the center areas of the board, and only a bit of crowding on the edges of the board. The jumpers on the back edge, on the left, change the center channel and subwoofer channels, and are the only jumpers found on the NF7-S besides the one used to clear the CMOS data. There are only two fan headers on the board, one being used by the chipset fan, and the other positioned in front of the RJ-45/USB jack tower.
