Chaintech Computer Co. today announced a pair of mainstream graphics cards, which deliver everything the Home Theatre PC users need for output as well as enough power for graphics-intensive applications and 3D gaming at a modest price.
Chaintech’s Volari V5 (SAV5) graphics card features XGI Technology’s Volari V5 chipset. The Apogee VE VA62A-G2 utilizes nVIDIA’s GeForce 6200A chipset. Both graphics cards have native AGP 8x support to lower the costs. They also feature 128/256MB DDR2 support, as well as all the outputs HTPC users and 3D gamers need with D-Sub
VGA out, HDTV output, DVI-I, and bundled S-Video cable.
Either video card is an outstanding choice for anyone who wants advanced technology at a lower price, which is still based on the AGP interface. Display resolution support ranges from 60-200 (256/65k/16.7 million colors) at 640x480 resolution to 60-85 at 2048x1536 resolution on both cards.
Chaintech’s SAV5 features XGI trademarked Cipher Video Processor, which utilizes an advanced de-interlacing technology to play video files with smooth, flicker-free and fluid motion. The Cipher video processor converts both incoming and outgoing video feeds to ensure that videos are displayed with the highest possible on-screen quality. The card also incorporates XGI’s ColorAmp Engine, which analyzes the on-screen environment and automatically optimizes color intensity and gamma levels to provide the most accurate on-screen color and display brightness.
