More Revolution controller news. A shell?

We keep getting news on the Revolution controller, and it just keeps getting more and more...interesting? It seems now that Nintendo has a shell that will fit around the base remote-like controller to provide a sort of controller we're more used to. The controller would still be able to sense movement but it would also have a face and buttons like a regular gamepad, bridging the gap between the Revolution controller and the GameCube controller.

Its a good idea, and will help Nintendo make nice for developers who don't want to have to code a whole new controller scheme into their ports. What I'm wondering is what the actual controller that comes with the system will be like. Is it going to be just the remote, and the analogue plug-in and shell will be an add-on? Or will each controller come with multiple parts.

IGN.com has a decent mockup of what the shell may look like. This may quell some of the fears that the Revolution will completely alienate third parties.
