LaCie to offer 8 GByte USB key for $150
Westlake Village (CA) - LaCie, a company known for portable hard-drive systems, is entering the USB Flash-Drive market in a big and colorful way. Next month, LaCie will introduce their orange colored, credit-card sized flash memory device. The new 'Carte Orange' USB key, containing either 4 or 8 GByte of memory, will sell for far less money than a traditional flash drive.
While other companies have crammed Gigabytes of memory into their gumstick-sized flash drives, LaCie seems to have taken a different route. The Carte Orange spreads memory chips over its credit-card sized frame, allowing the card to stay a thin 6mm thick. still can't beat my 40gb MP3 player
- that's what i use instead of a flash drive, might be a little bigger, but it's also got other features too ![]() but that flash "card" isn't a bad idea actually
