NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX: An Overview

It’s common knowledge: if you want mobility, you purchase a notebook, but if you want raw performance, you are better off buying a desktop. With the NVIDIA Go 7800 GTX it launched recently, NVIDIA hopes to change that perception by introducing a graphics chip that is similar in performance to its desktop variant, unlike the 6800 versions.

The number one concern in a notebook is battery life. If I am low on battery, I want my hardware to understand that and work efficiently, so that I can achieve the maximum uptime. However, with more power comes higher power consumption and that is where gaming on the laptop has died. Even today, if you are having a LAN party, users prefer lugging their desktops instead of coolly gaming on their notebooks, although with desktop replacement notebooks, the trend is starting to change.
