Wow, who'd a thunk? Doom: Resurrection of Evil on the XBox just released

Wow, that was quick. They said they were going to do it, no one heard anything, and then it pops up at retail. Resurrection of Evil is a stand alone expansion for Doom 3 on the Xbox that adds some new levels and a Half Life 2-like gravity weapon. I haven't had a chance to play it yet (to be honest I never finished the PC version of the expansion either) but if it's as good of a port as Doom 3 was fans are in for a treat.

The package also includes Doom 2, Ultimate Doom, and a level pack for Ultimate Doom. While the first Dooms were available in the collector's edition of Doom this is still some nice value added. The game is almost worth picking up to do four way co-op through Ultimate Doom on your big screen.

The game retails for US$29.99 and is out now. Not a lot of fanfare about it, but who doesn't want to go back to hell?

Playing console FPS with a gamepad is always like going back to hell =)

Pretty good deal considering you get both Doom 3 and the expansion PLUS a $5 off the ticket price for the Doom movie.

Not saying the movie is going to be good or anything, but I mean Doom was a huge part of my childhood so I'll probably see it just to see it.
