Palm Replacing Faulty SIM Trays on Cingular Treo 650s

Palm, Inc. will replace the SIM tray on some Treo 650 smartphones being offered by Cingular Wireless.

These devices will sometimes reset or their radio will turn off if they are bumped.

It has been determined that this is caused by a loose tray for the SIM card.

A page on the Cingular web site shows Treo 650 owners how to tell if they have one of the SIM trays that is being replaced.

This page also gives details on how to request a new one.

There is no need to return the smartphone or the faulty SIM tray, and Palm will ship the replacement free of charge.
