Many consider that Pioneer peaked with the DVR-108, and that both the 109 and the 110 fail to match up their previous high standards.
A concern relevant to both the 109 and the 110, is the lacklustre support for 16x media, with most other makers supporting a lot more of the available 16x media at full or 12x speed. Pioneer need one hell of a "catchup" firmware update to both the 109 and the new 110 models - hopefully the 109 won't end it's life as the 16x that's unlikely to do 16x and will get a few more updates before they throw their weight entirely behind the 110. |
