Nvidia to launch 7800 GTX 512 on 7th of November

"NVIDIA is planning a seven eleven style counter attack on the Radeon X1800XT.

Just whem ATI said it should be ready with the Radeon X1800XT, its overarching rival plans to reveal its Geforce 7800 GTX with 512MB of memory. As far as we know this card won't have different clock speeds from its 256MB brother but this could easily change.

Nvidia knows that ATI will be one or even two weeks late with the Radeon X1800XT as we don’t expect to see any cards before the twenty something of November, and Nvidia will be there to nail ATI with its 512 MB cards."

should be a very nice card, it will be interesting to see the final retail price.

curious about that one myself. if it remains at the same speed as the reg gtx they should only charge for the extra 256 ram & a small premium which should make it very nice pricewise.

hopefully the price of the 256Mb GTX will drop $50, and the final rice of the 512Mb GTX will be only $100 more over the 256Mb version......but only speculation thus far. And like Z said, it should be a very nice card

Most GTX cards right now have the spaces for the other 256 meg of ram. I can do SMT very well. I wonder if I could order more of the same chips I have, and just solder them on myself. All I would need is a bios flash..hmm might need to beef up the PSU on the card as well.

ummm.....hard modding your card like that will make your card dead

Exactly what I'm going to wait for. Just hope I can get these chips at a decent price. Hmm..could even get better spec. chips all around...hmm
