AMD's Athlon64 processors perform best with the lowest memory latency settings possible. OCZ's Gold VX line of memory provides this low latency ability at high bus speeds for the enthusiast. Higher speeds were able to be achieved by relaxing the timings some, however you start to loose performance by doing so. It's a very fine line between bus speed at memory latency, so be sure to benchmark your system at various settings to discover which combination works best for you.
Not all motherboards will be able to support this memory because of the high voltages required, so it is best to check the OCZ website for compatibility before purchasing.
The only downside to this memory is the voltage, anything in excess of 3V is a lot of juice to be putting through DDR memory. However, the OCZ EVP® (Extended Voltage Protection) allows enthusiasts to use a VDIMM of 3.5V ± 5% without invalidating their OCZ Lifetime Warranty.
