VIA Attacks NVIDIA nForce

INpact-Hardware has a interview posted online with VIA's marketing director.

"INpact-Hardware : You have quite a tumultuous reputation on the chipset market. How do you react to this judgment ? Do you think VIA deserves this reputation ?

R. B. : It’s a fair comment. VIA has been the driving force behind advances in Chipset technology for the past 4 years. Competing for technology leadership against the dominant company in an industry will always create headlines. We were the only company in a position to make PC133 happen when Intel rejected it in favour of Rambus.

We executed well on PC133 with strong support from the DRAM industry and then drove the adoption of DDR to take performance to the next level. There is no question now that our judgement was correct and the adoption of PC133 and DDR has given end users around the world better PC systems at lower prices."

Want to know what I think?

If you are one of the schmucks like me who bought the KT400 without knowing any better I think people like I deserve some type of trade in program. In the car industry when something like this happens it's called a recall folks.

Via stick it up your ASSa

I don't like VIA and I don't like Richard Brown

Put your money where your mouth is. No one cares about the Apollo KT133. VIA's best ideas came through acquisition.

Still on about that Ensemble part?

Please, a 24/96 onboard audio chip is innovation? The Envy tech has been sitting around for quite a while as VIA tried to figure out what to do with it. Its not even a DSP.

???

Doh!! We've been using VIA chipset boards here with great success and stability for years. I don't understand why everyone hates it so much.

So-Unreal is on a distinguished road

Cause they 100% always come out with a "fix" chipset on the AMD side. And that is BS but ppl buy anyway. Why not just do stuff right the first time around you would sell more that way(I think).
