Belkin offers guarantee for wireless transfer performance

Compton (California) - Belkin has decided to put its money where other companies have only hype regarding high wireless throughput.

The company today said that "consumers who purchase Belkin Wireless A+G networking products who believe that the data throughput is not what they expect at the time of purchase, based upon packaging that referenced the industry 108 Mbps standard, can return the product(s) for a full refund.

This offer not only covers purchases going forward, but also applies to Belkin Wireless A+G products purchased up to 90 days ago.

Belkin said that new packaging for these products will have explicit information "to provide Belkin customers a clear expectation of actual speeds and coverage". Information will be added saying that actual throughput rates obtained by consumers will be lower than the stated industry standard depending on network conditions and environmental factors such as volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead.
