Expulsion for teacher web insults

A 15-year-old boy has been expelled from a Conwy school after posting obscene messages about a teacher on a Wild West re-enactment website.

Three other pupils at Ysgol Bryn Elian in Old Colwyn have also been disciplined over the incident.

The offensive messages were posted on the website of a Wild West re-enactment society which the teacher belongs to.

The boy's parents are appealing against his expulsion. A police investigation is looking at computer misuse claims.

Ysgol Bryn Elian's head teacher Stephen Matthews said the messages which went further than "childish comments" were not posted on the internet via school computers.
