Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Series Driver 2.07.0004

This contains an improved version of the driver found on the Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ installation CD. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.

Fixes:
Removes randomly occurring audio distortion that may occur after you install drivers and restart your computer.
Improves host CPU utilization performance when you play 3D/EAX games.
Improves the usability of the Bit-Matched Playback feature in Audio Creation Mode. Resolves some MIDI/SoundFont® compatibility issues.
Restores EAX presets properly when you select default settings in Entertainment Mode.
Resolves the issue of a mode console sometimes not responding after you switch modes.
Restores proper functionality to the EQ sliders when you select EAX effects in Entertainment Mode.
Removes the error message that sometimes appears in THX Setup Console when you switch modes multiple times.
Resolves the issue of your computer not responding when you change the Reverb Aux effect in Audio Creation Mode. .

You should like this card as i have the same xfi as you do,maybe not a huge difference over the audigy 2 i replaced recently.But is certainly a worthy upgrade.

and for you the timing of a new driver too....can't be bad.

heh yea im replaceing the onboard on my compaq XD then useing it when i make my 1st rig in december,athlon X2,going all out on it so i figured i should get 1 of these now and i could use it till then

its such a difference if you go from onboard or from something without EAX and you fire up BF2 and set audio to high... put your headphones on. cmss3d or whatever it is called and your IN the game. audio is better then graphics in the game.

Can someone pls tell me if the headphone enhancement feature is the same for all four Xfi cards? There is a huge difference in price between the extreme music and the Fata1ty models. ($177) Creative's description page seems to favor the Fata1ty models headphone enhancement.

How about a mini review guys

I guess creative may need to check that fix.

I have rebooted my pc 3 times since installing these drivers.....and have just now heard this error reappear.

I just picked up the Fatalilty version. The major difference is the inclusion of 64 MB on onboard RAM. BF2 utilizes this currently, and I would expect more game patches to come out that make use of this feature.

It made a big difference over my Audigy 2/ZS (but maybe I had a lemon). Sound is awesome, bloatware is nice to look at and has an awesome UI that is a major improvement over earlier Creative apps.

Sounds better, my rig is running better.

the difference between the models is:
Xtreme = with 64MB ram which is not really useful at the moment
Toplineone = with ram and different D/A A/D converters.

get the music its exactly the same as the Xtreme appart from the break out box, memory and remote which I would never use anyway.

headphone feature is the same on all models... my FPS increased by 10FPS form my generic soundcard to the xfi in Bf2 and I have eax on, high sound and the headphones thingy.

just make sure when you play music you switch on the music switch not gaming with the headphones eax etc... sounds a bit odd on speakers

got my xfi and sony dvd burner in yesterday =D my system needs a reformat,my sony dvd drive dont work,says invalid win32 application to a few exes (the updated audio drivers and dh zer0point 5.11 drivers)so i installed tose 2 drivers and i think the video drivers install messed up kuz my theme is gone and its on classic mode and it wont let me install the drivers again,ill try booting safe,useing driver cleaner and installing again when i get home........oh and the software for the xfi says not reponding everytime i try to install (with the old cd and dvd drive,tried em both)....also this should be a thread of its own titled help me lol
