Clearly the Radeon X1800XL was designed with AA/AF settings in mind, as it really comes to life once these settings are enabled. The No AA/AF tests were dominated by the GeForce 7800 GT, though once the 4xAA/8xAF settings were enabled the Radeon X1800XL became far more competitive. While the AA/AF settings do make the Radeon X1800XL very competitive, it is still unable to wipe the floor with the GeForce 7800 GT. The performance margins between the GeForce 7800 GT and Radeon X1800XL are much like that of the previous generation. In other words it really depends on what games are used for testing, as either ATI or NVIDIA could come out on top.
