SiS recently announced that Axper, a motherboard brand
established by Gigabyte Technology to target the entry-level segment, will utilize the SiS761GX northbridge and SiS964 southbridge chipsets for its upcoming AMD Sempron-based XP-M8S761GX motherboard.
The SiS761GX in conjunction with the SiS964 southbridge fully supports PCI Express (PCIe) x16 and regulates CPU speeds and frequencies while achieving power-saving efficiency, according to SiS. The chipset also supports AMD’s HyperTransport Technology, which is capable of transmission speeds of up to 8GB per second (2000MT/s), noted the company.
In addition to the Axper XP-M8S761GX, Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) already passed verification tests from
Fujitsu-Siemens and
AOpen for its SiS761GX northbridge in conjunction with the SiS965 southbridge.
