Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250 GB Hard Drive Review @ XYZ Computing

Despite the fact that advances in storage techology are rarely as exciting as those in other fields of electronics, hard drive manufacturers have be able to produce steady and even impressive gains in recent months. The dominance of SATA, increasing cache sizes, increasing capacities, and dropping prices have kept consumers watching the hard drive industry. The results of these changes have been very positive and have put the hard drive market on a firm footing for future advancement.

This review going to be taking a look at the Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250 GB hard drive. The name is a mouthful and it does not reveal much at this drive, but the product does have some great features in store for users. In addition to a 300 MB/sec transfer rate the drive has a 16 MB cache, both of which should make it one of the best performing 7200 RPM drives on the market. WD categorizes this drive in the "Highest Performance" section of its desktop market, so its safe to assume that is has solid performance without the expense of an enterprise level drive.
