They look good, but i have not heard those models in particular. These are some of the best earbuds that I've ever heard.

Hey erroneous, besides those sony's you mentioned, are there any other good noise cancelling headphones that you know of? I'm looking to get some as well, but the shure's are too expensive, and i'd like to compare the sony's with some other brands/models.

Etymotics should be really great also, but they even more expensive then Shure
![]() Besides the Sony MDR EX81SL/B (which gets great scores by iLounge), the Sony MDR EX71SL should be ok and if you want it even cheaper, the Sennheiser mx500 is "ok", allthough no where near the others ![]() I'm going for the Shure, almost 99% certain

Thats the real big disadvantage not by living in North America or aleast UK, the hardware prices are so freaking high.
A x1800xt costs 625$, a 7800gtx 572$ a 7800gt 340$ and oh yeah, we have some of the highest taxes in the world ![]() I cry everytime i checks hardware prices

But I do agree that the headphones are pretty bad. I believe it has a lot to do with how it fits your ear (try pushing the headphones into your ear). I cant have it in more than two hours before my ears are throbbing. Even my cheap $10 dollar Sonys are a better fit. I bought the MDR-EX70 for about $45 and I will never go back. The Nano lanyard headphones are a complete ripoff actually. They are the SAME stock headphones in some fancy loop to produce a lanyard. Believe it or not, they offer no improvements in sound quality.

I just bought my Fiancee a 30gb ipod video for Christmas, does it use the same earphones as the nano or are they any better. If they are rubbish i'll have to go and get a decent set tomorrow for her.
I was interested to hear about people having difficulties with stock, I ordered hers with a personalised message on the back last Sunday evening and it arrived wednesday morning 9am direct from the apple website. |

They're great also in that you don't need a headphone amp to get the most out of them. Shure has a few higher end models, like the e5 that are really expensive, but you really need an amp to warrant using them, and be a hardcore audiophile.

I just won the sony MDR EX81LP/B off ebay, for 45 bucks canadian after shipping
They seem like good headphones, and considering that in our stores here they start at 89 before tax, I got a good deal on them too. I think they're comparable to the MDR EX81SL/B you mentioned, but their frequency response is a little better on the low end (at least according to the specs).

I ended buying a pair of the E2c's. Hope they sound as good as I've heard.

I like them very much. Though I miss the bass response of the Koss Plugs. However, the clearity & isolation more than makes up for it. It really does help if you try out the different inserts. Now I just have to get used to them being wrapped around my ears.
