UK computer game retailer Game is looking into claims that one of its store managers is flogging eight Xbox 360 bundles on eBay.
The auction - which closes Tuesday evening - is for "brand new, factory sealed, Xbox 360 Premium Pack with three games". "I have 8 units for sale, these were obtained from a store of which I am the manager, receipt will be supplied for your guarantee, just return to any branch of 'game'", said the auction details. Why's it a problem, so long as the extra money he got for hocking them on ebay goes in the books and not his pocket, that is

I have a feeling its also against company policy, and grounds to can him. When I worked at EB Games, it was a big deal when employees would do that. In fact, a higher up in our region got canned (they guy was WAY high up) for something very similar to that.
Companies tend not to like it when their management abuses their power. The systems were most likely, knowing how short everything was, reserved for paying, loyal customers, whom in return didnt get a system, and were probably upset. Customer services and customer retaining are FAR more valuable to a company than a couple hundred extra bucks (assuming the guy wasnt pocketing it, which I'm sure he was). |
