Classic Doom 1.0 Released

Classic Doom is a Doom 3 mod that lets you experience the old days of Doom in Doom 3's engine.

A lot of time and effort has gone into bringing this mod to the stage that it is in today. Hopefully all fatal bugs have been removed from this version and as such, version 1.0 is considered the latest stable release of the mod. If however you find any bugs with this version of Classic Doom 3 , we urge you to post your findings in the following thread:

If you wish to make general comments about the project (good or bad) then please do so, but remember to be constructive. If you like the project, please say the parts that you enjoyed the most, and if you dislike the project, please post the parts that you have had problems with. Alongside the inclusion of maps E1M6, E1M7 and E1M8, these maps are also deathmatch enabled. With our custom menu system, you will be able to join any deathmatch server that is running version 1.0 of Classic Doom 3. You will also be able to create your own deathmatch servers for internet play. For those of you who wish to play through Classic Doom 3 in Co-Op, the Last Man Standing modification will be releasing the mod shortly. We urge everyone to download both versions of the mod when they become available.

Unfortunately we have been unable to compile a new DLL for linux and mac users, however the final, bug free, release of 1.1 will be available for all platforms in due course.

We all hope to see the fans on a deathmatch server in the near future!

why the bloody hell would you get a doom classic mod for doom 3 when you can download the original doom from about a thousand web sites on the neat. too much time on someone's hand.

I played the betas, and I have to say, these guys did a hell of a job. If you liked Doom, DL and give it a shot, its good stuff.

Great mod..... Graphics do make a huge difference over the original game (obviously) but some of the maps do appear to be slightly different to how i remember doom.

make sure doom3 is patched to 1.3. after that just unzip the cdoom into the doom3 folder. after that, start doom, select mods, and select classic doom.
