Asustek enters LCD TV market with launch of 32-inch model

Motherboard giant Asustek yesterday entered the LCD TV market, with the launch of a 32-inch model (TLW32001) in the local Taiwan market. Priced at NT$62,800 (US$1,889), the TLW32001 will hit the shelves starting next week, according to the company.

Targeting the high-end of the LCD TV market, Asustek will initially only sell its LCD TVs in the Taiwan market, with the company stating it has not yet decided when it will expand its sales to other regions.

The company aims to ship 800 units a month, said Benson Lin, general manager of Asustek's Asia-Pacific sales and marketing division.
