DH Review: Thermaltake Kandalf Enhanced Aluminum Chassis

Driverheaven USA Hardware Editor has taken a look at a very sexy case from everyone's favourite Thermaltake.

It's time to look at the Thermaltake Kandalf Enhanced Aluminum Chassis Series, in the form of the VA9000 series aluminum chassis identified as the VA9000 SWA. You'll never lack for storage space with the Kandalf chassis or complain about cramped quarters. The versatility and cooling options abound with this particular product, which will be discussed in more detail below.

sexy looking case i must admit. I had an Xaser III and it was not too bad. I like the Aerocool Masstige that I am currenty using. Everything is so easy to access

I haven't been a huge fan of most thermaltake cases, but that one is sweet.
Nice review.. didn't leave anything out of that one!

Sandok will become famous soon enoughSandok will become famous soon enough

That case is 100% the same as the Armour Case from Thermaltake except the front doors are "different". Nice review

WxChaser is on a distinguished road

Thanks all...it really is a stunning and functional case. Look for an upcoming review of a water cooled Tai Chi case from Thermaltake on the upcoming agenda of reviews.

I have the armor version of the same chassis which is identical apart from the front doors, for air cooling enthusiasts its worth noting that additional hdd cages can be bought seperate for additional fan mounts.
It's also possible to carry out a few easily reversible mods which I have posted elsewhere (post your rig I think), summarised it's possible to mount a 120mm fan on the back of the front hdd cage and you can also squeeze a 120mm fan in place of the 80mm on the top of the case. Run them all off a fan controller and you can run silent when not gaming.
At the moment im trying to summon the courage to Dremel the mesh that impedes the flow of the rear 120mm fan (I'd appreciate your comments on this project ie will it make a noticeable impact?).

That's the only thing I didn't like about it.. on my current case I have done the same thing, and then just used regular wire fan guards.. Cuts down on noise, and also increases air flow.
