As games become more and more demanding, the burden on the system follows in step. Aside from the usual necessities such as a blazing fast processor and graphics card, the amount of system memory necessary for decent gameplay has met, and on some occasions, exceeded one gigabyte. To achieve smooth gameplay for all titles, two gigabytes is a must. Initially, this was discouraging for the overclocker in many of us. Simply put, the 2GB kits available at the time were not capable of high memory throughput and performance required for benchmarking. Either select a 1GB kit for overclocking and suffer occasional stuttering in games, or choose a 2GB kit and sacrifice 3DMarks for smooth gameplay. These were the compromises once faced. Well, my dear readers, rejoice! For today we take a look at Corsair's answer to the high performance 2GB market, the Twinx 2048 - PC4000PT.
