A lot has happened in 2005 on the CPU front, both from AMD and Intel. In particular, the enterprise jungle out there is becoming almost impossible to cross without a thorough understanding of your application needs.

Decision makers need to really get the most bang for the buck in their line of work to make sure we are staying competitive. This means they have to buy systems that last for as long as possible, have the lowest potential service requirements, offer decent manageability features, and feature the best price/performance ratio available. Finding the optimal 'combination' can be time consuming, as well as expensive, if not done properly. Unfortunately, a lot of material is written about new consumer and enthusiast systems, but not a great deal on business segment systems.
