UT2007 PC First & Demo Plans
UT2K7 Released first on PS3 or PC on the Atari Forums has word from Epic that Unreal Tournament 2007 will be released on PCs before consoles, and that there are plans to precede the game's release with a demo:
PC first. We're not scheduled to be a ps3 launch title, not certain where those news sites are getting that from. There will be a pre-release demo (on the PC at least). ________________ Source: Bluesnews |

*cough*...... yeah where the hell they get there info on a PS3 launch?
Unnofficially, The Unreal 3 Engine is pretty much complete, SDKs were sent out june july of 2005 (and have been further updated) Unreal 3 also includes support for PS4.0 model... which.. is very unique. Also, fully natively 64 bit mode ran. Although much lower quality physics and overall graphics for those still pushing on a 32 bit hardware system, or 64 bit hardware but running windows 64. Unreal 3 engine (UT2007) may be the first full blown 64 bit natively ran game. Built with 64 bit in mind. Course, details is still skimpy.. I'm going to say they'll launch the demo on the same date as UT2004 demo was launched... few more months... but hey, could expect it sooner (expect at least 1gb download for demo)

Yes Neon, that seems to be the trend nowadays, but I mean the producer came out and said that's it's going to be released for the pc first. If this turns out to be false, then the creditability (some of it) of the producer and Epic is lost, at least with the pc users. Don't think they would want to f*ck that up, since the pc users were the main reason why UT2K4 is/was a success.

trust me.... it's going to be a PC demo soon and there will be no Full Blown Console version till after a full release on the PC.. IF AT all a side by side release on both the XBox 360 and PS3..
I wouldn't be surprised if UT2007 was fully officially went gold and launched june july.. hell, might actually see if by may in any case, Epic is and has made damn sure this unreal engine 3 is capable of doing absalutely ANYTHING a game designer could want... building it with full blown physics engine that is out of this world. Combined with the fact that they are pushing for more graphical configureability than there is any hardware out to support it currently. Enough brute capability to drop our Dual core and 64 bit capable machines to the floor so fast it's frankly NOT FUNNY. Most video cards today support at least 4096x4096 res images... i can "almost" guarantee you that they are going to make use of this, your going to see maps/lvls being designed AFTER the release that are out of this world huge and interactive. If only i could show you the last video i had... and that ones several months old of a pre RC

Well guess I'd better build a new system:
X2 4800+ or better over 2 GIG ram 7800GTX 256 x 2 Xtreme Creative Sound card thingy ![]() Maybe then someone can actually play it smoothly!

I've heard some rare rumors about a MS Revision 2 of the XBox360 with not only hardware heating solutions applied, but a few revisions to the hardware. Saposedly a little better Graphic power.
In any case it could be as simple as a die shrink on various things... XBox360 (MS) have been working with Epic to make sure the unreal 3 engine will work great on the console... so expect unreal to run utterly amazing on it.. but also expect.. it to be not nearly as good quality as it's PC Variant which is going to be the first to be released. Epic isn't going to ruin something, not like EA or Ubisoft or other cheap game producers. Specially sony. They sit down at the table and first design everything to spec with say any console.. most likely the PS2. They basically max out the capabilities and slap it together, launch it.. then do a very terrible port over to PC. Xbox games are quite similarely made. Epic sat down and worked from what they know about the future hardware specs available... not to mention they had 64 bit in mind right from the start. Epic was looking forward to multithreading.... trying to take full advantage of intel HT... but with the first few stages of the engine done and testing completed, intel HT proved to be quite incapable what they needed. Volla, the Dual cores emereged and they knew about it before hand. They built the engine from the ground up with a future PC in mind... Pushing the envelope even for machines 6 months from now yet. When it's first released, i betcha enless you've got a top of the line card, SLI'ed or crossfired.... with top/max memory and cpu and the lot, you'll still only be able to manage reasonable FPS at a little bit lower then "holy Shit" quality. Hell, i don't think we'll even have the full capabilities of what is supported in the engine going.

Well the thing is that UT2003 for it's time was gorgeous and ran perfectly on that gen tech... I don't think it'd be THAT badly optimzed for good graphics and good FPS... They ain't that crazy and I'm sure it'll scale well onto most PCs (including 32bit and all)

PS3.0 has been out since nvidia released there 6xxx series video cards.. that's been awhile...
ati released there PS3.0 supported hardware with the X1xxx series.. Don't get me wrong... epic isn't going to shoot themselves in the foot over Unreal 3's engine.... they are going to make it work with windows 32bit but obviously with some serious quality (mostly Physics related) reduction to run great on a 32bit OS. Mostly as far as i can tell, there isn't anything realy to say about the graphics being reduced in quality on a 32bit system. But i can't exactly say for sure. I beleive PS2.0 (so the 9500-9800 ati cards and above) is required to fire the game up. but they may provide further backward capability. Epic and it's unreal engines are known for steller backward capability with achient video cards..
