nVidia confirm FX benchmarks from Maximum PC

Nordichardware posted a recent interview directed to Nvidia which contains some interesting Q&A's. This interview was based on notes held by Driverheaven board member Uriel_is_UndaC. In this interview they claim that in six months time (from the interview date at Comdex) they will regain the performance crown from ATI. They also state that the recent performance benchmarks posted on Maximum PC are indeed genuine figures.

-------------------------------

[NH]: We'd like to know what you think of ATi snatching the performance crown, perhaps a bit unexpected, from you?
[nV]: There's no doubt that the 9700 Pro is the fastest videocard that money can buy right now. However ATi will not stay at the throne for very long. Within 6 months nVidia will have the crown back and we think ATi will have a hard time retorting this time since they will probably have problems moving to 0.13 micron technology* when creating their 9700 Pro successor.
*(From what we at NordicHardware have gathered the successor to 9700 Pro, R350, will be built on 0.15 micron technology.)

[NH]: One last thing; are the Maximum PC benchmarks authentic?
[nV]: Yes they are authentic.
