Newswatch: AMD expects embedded processor sales to pick up in 1-2 years

A Commercial Times report cites AMD as saying that its Geode, Sempron and Turion processors are now being adopted by embedded platforms in a wide range of product segments, including communications and consumer electronics. AMD, however, stated that the related revenue contribution would remain at only 5%, with its Geode product line still attempting to gain orders from leading players and ODMs. The recent US$100 notebook from MIT adopts the Geode processor.
