Gonna be installing my new western digital 150g Raptor tommorow so I'm looking forward to not having to use the original Audigy2 CD drivers first. Nice timing

Just waiting on the European server to work, but I have a question before downloading. Do these new drivers come with OpenAL or is that still limited to the beta drivers?

the euro server was working perfectly well & quick when i posted the thread.. but it's down at the moment,so it's not an isolated problem.

What id like to see now they have the unified Audigy driver more or less sorted, is a Unified Creative apps pack for Audigy to bring the old card upto the same level as the newer ones (bar hardware features). Mediasource is already unified, so now i want the rest

if you install this one, does it say version 1164 (1161 dont remember) under device manager?

'cause the 5.12.6.1164 are from the summer of 2005..... ie not new.

The Driver is 5.12.8.1164 dated 08/12/2005 . Im sure the beta released in the summer was 1162 though.

Thats a problem because creative hardware hasn't gone very far from the !live. This is evident by the modded iPAX drivers.

you're right.. 5.12.6.1161 is the old one.. 5.12.8.1164 is new..

just installed em.. seems to work fine. somehow i feel i get less stutter in the beginning of a battlefield2 session..

Recognized my card, which is a good start (last set I had to manually unpack). No unwanted pops at shut off or anything and games I play run well - good set for me.

I installed these drivers, but it doesn't seem to have Media Source. How do I get it installed?

You have to install MediaSource from your orginal install cd. I don't think you can download that seperately.
