Gateway CEO resigns

Gateway announced Thursday that its chief executive, Wayne Inouye, has resigned to pursue other interests.

Rick Snyder, Gateway's board chairman and a former company president, will serve as interim CEO until a permanent replacement is found, the company said. The sudden resignation of Inouye comes as the computer maker continues to lose market share to rivals such as Dell, despite his efforts to refocus the company on its PC roots.
