A4Tech X-710 Game Mouse Review @ HardwareZoom

It has been quite awhile since we review a mouse. The reason is simple. We didn’t really see anything revolutionary in the mouse design or technology. Most of the mouse out there is just so-so with average pricing. The good ones, normally designed for gaming are expensive. So when A4Tech came to us and told us that they have a gaming mouse which sells at around USD$20, we were excited. A gaming mouse for USD$20? Got to be kidding us. Back of our mind is that this is another Taiwanese hype; putting in the title “game mouse” which is actually a normal mouse.

I know most sites do a mouse review within days after receiving the mouse. But we didn’t. Despite the pressure of publishing a review fast, we took two good weeks of really using the mouse. We personally feel that a mouse is such an item that you cannot really tell its benefits or flaws within two days of using it. You need to use it for a while, so that you can feel its problems or effectiveness. If after awhile you don’t even notice it is there, or how comfortable it is, then that mouse is truly a good mouse. Now back to this mouse. The wonderful feature about this mouse is that it allows the user to change 4 different kind of DPI within a click of the button. You can choose between 400dpi, 600dpi, 800dpi and 1000dpi. Each set of DPI has a corresponding colour on the scroll wheel. But more on this later.
