Below you will find our choice of components used in our mainstream building guide. All of our shopping for this guide was done at Newegg.com. We chose Newegg due to their low prices, good customer service and excellent shipping department. I have been a Newegg customer for several years and continue to recommend them to anybody looking for great hardware at very competitive prices. BTW, we are in no way affiliated with Newegg; we simply chose them because we like them. Anyway, we will describe each component below and give our reasons for selecting it to be used in our guide. This guide follows the assumption that you already have the basic components such as a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers. The main goal of this guide is to build a powerful, well-rounded machine that is capable of being overclocked.
