Re: Anyone collect old cards?
I normally try to sell my old cards, if there is no buyer, I'll donate it to a charity.

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
I don't consider myself a collector, but I have a couple of oldies:
ATI Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2X, it served me for a good few years. ![]() ![]() A Voodoo 2, I don't know how I ended up with it, I'm pretty sure that I've never used it. ![]() I also have a Voodoo 3 Velocity which I used for a short while. I can't dig up any pics, but this is an identical card: ![]() Other than that, I'd kept an S3 Trio64V+ until a few years ago, when I gave it to a friend who needed to get an old PC running. I have no pics of it either, so I'll borrow one from member Demarc, originally posted here: The oldest piece of PC hardware at your home.. Notice the memory expansion slots. ![]() ![]() Not nearly as old, and in fact still in use, is my ATI Radeon 9800Pro. It's a non-reference design actually built by Medion (whose name was printed on the back of the PCB and then sloppily painted over) and sold under MSI's brand. A stock photo: ![]() Sadly, it doesn't seem that I'll keep collecting old cards as I sold my Radeon 4670 yesterday. Still, it turned out that I've got three cards I'm no longer using, plus one more that's already 7 years old, not bad for a non-collector.

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
I may still have 2 cards that were made by MIRAGE-MMC.
They were made for people that wanted to use the old fixed frequency workstation monitors on a PC. I had a 21" Sony GDM-20D10 which as BIG in it's day, and a VERY high quality monitor, but was fixed freq. That's when I found out about MIRAGE. The first one was based on the Savage3D, but I forget what Mirage named it. The second was the Mirage Illusionist 3D, based on the Savage4. Pretty decent cards, but not easy to setup for the first time.

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
wow those look like you kept them in great condition IvanV!
I'll look for my Radeon 7200 (?) in the basement and take a photo later but last time I saw it, it was a mess. My GPU history goes S3 trio 64V > some ATI 64 something > Radeon 7200 > TNT2 >>>> (HUGE GAP) >>>>> 8800GT lol. I only have the Radeon 7200 from the old ones and collect new ones now. |

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
My dedicated graphics card history:
6600LE->8500GT->9600GT->9800GTX+->HD6850 I feel young ![]() The 6600 and 9600 have been sold. My mum's using the 8500 in her office PC. I've not yet decided what the fate of the (soon to be cooler-less) 9800 should be. Maybe that'll start my collection :P

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
I still have a couple of AMD X800 XT's in use...... one AGP and one PCI-e (which the PCI-e version actually got fairly decent numbers in Win7 performance tool when overclocked to the hilt!)
![]() I also have a Matrox Parhelia 256mb PCI-X in use....... (yeah, you'll have to google that one as nobody has ever heard of it) Don't ask........

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
I've heard of Matrox, they're usually sold in Southern Africa/Asia/Australia. Just like Gainward.

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
Here in the states it's more of a business/technical card....... Found in a lot of industrial and medical equipment.

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
Went on their website and it looks like they're only focusing on professional graphics now, Gainward is still into PC Gaming though.

Re: Anyone collect old cards?
Somewhere I have a 256kb ram ISA video card by Realtek. (that's right, Realtek)
Still worked too, but couldn't find a single driver anywhere. Was labelled 1990,91, or 92
