3D Prophet 4000XT
I'm currently using a 3D Prophet 4000XT as opposed to an nVidia TNT2 Pro... Should I switch back to nVidia (16mb) or stick with this 64mb card?

Dunno, depend on what games your playing, if it is mostly fps then i would stick to the Kyro, and if your not so much in to gameplay, I would also stick to the Kyro( much better image quality)
Btw you are aware of the new drivers? V2 check out the site in my sig for where to get those

OR get them from the horses mouth at http://www.powervr.com/Downloads.asp
There's also a great PowerVR community over at http://www.pvr-net.com News is a bit slow, but the forums are good

The PowerVR drivers seemed to work slower than the official drivers from Hercules.com... Just my system?

unfortunaly when the v2 driver came, I could not play with them very long, due to me buying an Ati 9700np, what from what i've seen & tryed, they where just as fast or faster than the previous ones, on my system atleast + there is now an option to use EnTL (software based T&L), which is handy for games that insists on having T&L onboard, Electronic (f)Arts come to mind. I think you should check out forementioned PVR sites to learn more about them. |
