PowerVR Drivers: Will there be any?

well ive mentioned this to Uberlord, he runs a dedicated PowerVR fan site, so hopefully he will be able to answer all your PowerVr questions.

Do you mean official releases, 3rd party (ie Hercules) relases or custom driver mixes?

As the dirvers are unified, we should get a new driver with the release of the Kyro II-SE cards. I'm not certain what the holdup with the release is, but its probably because STM haven't sold off their PC graphics division yet.

AFAIK PowerVR are still working on the drivers - infact Kristof (PowerVR developer relations guy) mentioned that several fixes were in place for the next driver. Wether they release a driver before the Kyro II-SE is doubtfull according to what I understand - only if a major game title fails to work easily iirc.

Hercules may or may not release any of the drivers PowerVR are currently working on - thats upto them.

I know that Omegadrive expressed an interest in mixing Kyro drivers, but he hasn't got a Kyro. MWarHead over at our forums mixed the latest XP driver so it worked on Win2k - so you might want to pop over to our forums at http://www.pvr-net.com and ask him if he's going to try mixing drivers for speed/iq or whatever

I would, but Power VR only seems to release drivers like every 4 months and when they release them they make signifigant changes. Power Vr only has made two set of the directx 8 drivers so far. I'm sure no one wants me to mix the directx 7 drivers with the newer ones. I'm not even sure if it would work. But, if Power Vr starts releasing more drivers I'll consider it.
