the V8 ultra has 900mhz 128bit DDR2 memory 256mb total, seprate memory for each coreof course it did well against a card that sucks as bad as the 9800se Geeze a high end market part vs low end a value market part...

Also the price is higher we might add! The V8's price and market competition is the 9800 pro wich whoops it's arse and send it running home crying like a little girl

rofl a 9600xt meets or beats the 9800se... across the board!

Don't get me wrong they have great potental... but are no ati or nvidia and are far behind and clearly put in their place verry soon please remember how this card will compair to a duel r4/r5XX with duel , or a duel 6800u in SLI .... lol... it like compairing a x800xt pe to a tnt 2 m64 lol....

Unless thier prices are dirt cheap, and even then theyd on threaten the lower markets ... Put it this way ATI and nvidia have nothing to worry about from XGI least for the forseeable future

hey mike,
I think Heiko is looking for a better driver to run the card, but the out of the box scores arent bad, and certainly better than SIS or Intel in terms of performance. I always thought of the card as a good graphics alternative, and not necessarily for gaming.

just look at some of the results though, there are a few games that are out preforming and still increasing in preformance.. it not the point of saying, hey, a 9800se is losing in a few rare occasions to this XGI card.... it simply something to compare against....

And also looking at some of the games that have gotten to actually work with the last few revision of the drivers is apparent that they are making headway.... maturing..... i'm impressed......

Myself as well Judas, I am inudated with scores and benchmarks for the Nvidia and ATI products on various systems, it would be refreshing to see a little competition from XGI to make the big two GPU makers improve or lower the costs of their products to make them more competitive for consumers.
What interests me is that a beta tester contaced XGI and Omegadrive to get better drivers, now that really peeks my interest...

They wold be a nice soultion if they wre more readily avilable and the prices were more competitvely priced...

you can't charge more for a card the performes less then an competitor card @ the same or lower price... people won't buy it...

They are better then sis or intel but they cost alot more lest from what prices i've seen on "thier" high end (competitors mid/low end) and thats what takes the cake.... IQ seems fine

(If i remember correctly they started out the gate getting cough cheating in thier early drivers too...)

they've got potential but they have alot to learn.....

Do u know if Omega are going to bring out a driver yet for the XGI cards.

Im a currently the W/Record hold for 3DMarks01se ,03pro and AquraMarks for a Volari V8.

My VoltMod V8 got scores of 3DMk01se is: 17348 http://www.volarigamers.com/download...63d5d54425c755

The core of the V8 can be hit 600Mhz MAXX. Ive only pushed it to 520Mhz.

I wish Omega would make a driver so i wouldnt have to mess around with the .ini file to enable large O/Clocks.

Oh yeah and the since this is a budget card ,I really do think it eats 9600pros .
