problem with my vid card, need help.

ok, so i dont know what kind of vid card i have and as the stupid idiot i am i have lost the driver cd, so im just wondering if anyone know of anyway to check what kind of card i have or what kind of cards dell uses.

you can find your display adapter info in the System Information (Start ->Run ->Msinfo32) ->System Summary ->Components ->Display

when i check that its empty no info whatsoever.

Well you could open it up and look but

I have a tool.....

download and unzip this

THEN save this in the same folder replaceing the older version

then run PCI32.EXE

you might want to make a run.bat file with the 2 lines

PCI32.EXE
pause

becouse it seems to auto close one it'd id's eveything

that is the PCI and AGP bus sniffer and report generator, it's a "command line" tool.. reason that the window close when you run it because it need to be ran under CMD shell,
if you want the tool to generate a report, at the prompt type in this below line and hit enter key.

pci32 -b >businfo.txt

the report will be saved in the program installed folder..

under win XP you can get a full report of your system information..

go to Start ->Run and type in one of the command line below and hit enter key,
a file called 'sysinfo.txt' will be saved in your C:,
you should be able to see your video card info in the saved file under the section [Display]

winmsd -report c:\sysinfo.txt

-Or-

"%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe" /report C:\sysinfo.txt
