Cinebench Scores
Just curious as to what everyone is getting when you run the Cinebench benchmark? Cinebench runs an OpenGL video test and also a CPU test.

Re: Cinebench Scores
The OpenGL cinebench isn't working for me. Wonder if that has to do with the OpenGL 4 preview driver.

If you're getting an error about some kind of mis-match, you need to change CCC settings to the Default. Any AA settings, for example, will usually cause the error. |

Re: Cinebench Scores
![]() I've tried with all settings at default, lowest, highest, AI off and so on but I get this every time anyway. Gonna try and update to 10.4 driver and see. Just hate to lose OpenGL 4 |

Re: Cinebench Scores
I got that same error until I turned off AA.

Re: Cinebench Scores
There is no way to turn AA off. Either it's set to controlled by application or it's set to at least 2x. I've tried both.

Re: Cinebench Scores
Got it working after installing the 10.4 set so it seems that Cinebench doesn't work with the preview OpenGL 4 driver.
Though, something's wonky. When I ran cinebench about a month ago with my 5770, before the OGL4 driver was installed, I got a CPU score of 4.56, now I'm only getting 3.80. Quite a nice rice from 38 with the 5770 to 68 with the 5870 on the OpenGL bench though. |

Re: Cinebench Scores
Just my CPU score to celebrate a recent small gain in stable overclock. In oder to get the OpenGL test to run at all I had to disable the CatalystAI setting in driver 10.4.

Re: Cinebench Scores
![]() nice new cinebench, i haven't had a go with it since the motor bike. Found the advanced test up there in he file menu, ran the single core one default and another time with the affinity for its exe set to one core and got the exact same score each time. |

Re: Cinebench Scores
Got OpenGL tests to work after setting AA and AF to "use application settings", AAA to disabled and AI to normal (advanced AI gave me only a 90% match). Cinebench has to be restarted for the changes made in CCC to take effect. Here's my score and I also included the result from my old PC as a curiosity (quite a nice gap in single core performance, much greater than the clock speed difference itself implies
). ![]() EDIT: Hobo[eclipse], how did you get 40fps in OpenGL test? The reference chart says that even 4800 series cards get only around 30fps.

Re: Cinebench Scores
beats me, 10.4, AA and AF on app pref, Cat AI disabled, Open GL triple buffer disabled. Must be the OC on the card, has been at 860 core 1280 RAM since early 2008.

Re: Cinebench Scores
It might be the OC combined with the number of ROPs, which is same on your card as on 4800 cards and twice what my 4670 has. 5870 chip has 32, and that, along with it's clock, is proportional to it's performance. Still, it's a little strange that the performance in a modern benchmark, even a professional one, would correlate so heavily with the number of ROPs.

Re: Cinebench Scores
Two things I failed to do on the original run:
1. Turn off V-Sync, and.. 2. Turn ON Triple Buffering! However, I don't know just why the CPU score went down a few notches but it could well have been due to me running some monitors on the second screen.

Re: Cinebench Scores
This thread kind of fell out of fashion, but having seen the score in an article on Radeon 5570 (which I correctly recognized as way higher than what I used to get), I gave Cinebench another spin and lo and behold, ATI did a bit of magic with their drivers somewhere between 10.4 (which is what I believe I benched with last time) and 10.7.
